the problem is that in the UK the rib industry has developed from a cottage industry with lots of people setting up small businesses producing ribs over the years. Sadly some didn't make it. Trying to trace moulds and defunct companies will be very difficult. Given the fading on the tubes think the boat is going to be early 80's. Also the tubes look as if they are held on with a metal strip trapping a tube flange against the hull. This isn't a cheap approach and allows tubes to be replaced easily (albeit by removing thousands of screws). This is often seen on comerical ribs like Halmatic, early Osprey Falcons etc.

Again that console isn't familiar, is it original or is there evidence that it was added later? it

You need to contact some of the old and bold and ask them to cast there minds back two decades, so the 3 people I can think of are, Kevin Goulding Hotribs, Tony Lee-Elliott (Flatacraft) or Paul Lemmer.

Any chance that the hull plate is hidden by the Ali extention ? or how about an ex North Sea rib.

finally solved....

Hi,

although this was quite a while ago, I´ve not really forgotten about it- and sometimes things get almost solved by accident...
When I was traveling through Scandinavia recently, I saw a RIb for sale parked at the roadside- looked somehow familiar so I turned around. It was almost the same boat than the one on the pictures in my original post, just in better overall condition and w/o the prolonging. Inside the transom there was also a little sign with production data and so on- we were all wrong:
Seems that these boats have been produced in Sweden by a company named "Weedo", this type is a Weedo 22! These boats were mainly produced for the offshore industry and not meant for the leisure-market.
I`ve tried to search the web for "Weedo" but couldn`t find much- so maybe now one of you guys can roll the ball a little further?

I believe in fact its a BMW rapier about 1992. Looks more like the 27' foot one. How many chambers does it have??- if its 5 - then it more than likey a raper. Mine is very similar - but I think yours has also been retubed. The hull is based on the Scorpion . BMW ( Blue Water Maritime were based near Poole and went out of business 1996). This was an outfit run by Paul Lemmer.
It is ( was ) a good srong boat- and mine is in perfect condition even being 10 years old. Hope this helps.
