What size outboard on chinook 5.5

Advice please
I've just bought an old 5.5m chinook ( sea fury ) I think.
I need to know what is max / right size outboard I can fit.
Any info on chinook rib also welcomed.

Do you have any pictures? I had one and thought it was a great boat, excellent in the swell. Mine had twin 40hp 2 strokes and was good for 30/32 knots if I remember rightly having twins was good fun but expensive. They'll be old boats now - I'd say mine was 1987?

Twins would be nice but as you say probably more expensive to run.

After reading through endless old threads and for sale ads it seems as though a 90hp would be max but a 65hp would do just fine.
Does that sound about right ?

I would be looking at the transom for ageing and going from their. 70-115 would really push that puppy along but it's all down to your boating knowledge/confidence vs boat age and deterioration
