Whats in a name?

I am about to name my new 8m uncompleted RIB.

I quite like the idea of "Titanic".

Anyone see a problem in this or have a suggestion?

David

Be rather ironic if she sank on her maiden voyage & for that reason....... "I'm out!"

You might find it hard to get anyone to go out on the rib with you. If you have already had the nameplate made suggest you cut it up and call it Titan....http://www.rib.net/forum/images/smilies/thumbs.gif

If you were going to keep it in Brighton I would have suggested the classic "TITAN URANUS" both as a boat name and some general good advice

I Think there are a few boats out there called titanic. I seem to remeber a picture of a small powerboat in a newspaper called that and was half sunk next to a pier sometime recently

Watch the film if you haven't done so already. It may persuade you to choose a different name.

I'm not sure but I reckon this is a typo, me thinks he was suggesting e-Gy-Bum, in which case I'm not so sure you should suggest any further films :hide

There was a small cuddy type fishing boat called titanic that was on the news in August. That may be the one you are referring to.
