What's it worth.

Just been offered a 6m ish Chinook RIB. Its background is a little unclear (apparently part of a deal for a dive centre which has gone bust) but it may be available "very cheap".

Good points are that it has a clean looking 175 Yamaha V6, possible approx 5 years old and reasonable electronics (Icom radio and dsc, 2 fish finders and gps, Lowrance, Eagle and Garmin, no rubbish).

However tubes have been slashed, and in my very inexpertopinion would have to be replaced.

To be honest, it's not something I really want, but the engine might be useful! Rough going rate for a second-hand yamaha 175 anyone (assuming good nick).

Also, anyone care to offer a very rough ballpark figure for a complete retube?

Lastly, wtf is a Chinook RIB anyway?

(RIB had blue tubes and was on an unbraked 2 axle trailer, anyone recognise it from that description?)

Rads hi,

Chinook were bought out by Delta in about 96/97 time. They were owned by Kevin Goulding, who now runs: http://www.hotribs.com/ Saw him at Ribex recently.

Whats it worth, well The Yam 2k, the trailer £500 and the hull hmm try 1k but very difficult without seeing it. A re-tube should be about 2.5k.

Pete

Thanks Pete.

Exactly the level of detail I was after!
