Phew, you had me worried!

It was the first run-up since servicing, new impellor, seals, etc so I was happy to see it pi55ing like a horse

More progress today and a couple of thank you notes for fellow nobburs...

Grablines attached and Avon badges ready to be affixed. Name badges should arrive tomorrow so I'll have to power up the heater in the workshop and have a glue sniffing session.

Fuel tanks awaiting fitting and stainless ratchet buckles (and continuous black webbing strap) on order fro Union Industries in Leeds (thanks Pikey Dave for the lead on this one).

Finally, a thank you to Nos (I think) who highlighted the fantastic fuses that light up when blown. Due to 'operator error' with the wiring on the lighting circuit I managed to blow a couple of fuses and it was the simplest job to see exactly which fuse it was and replace.

Done!

Apart from attaching the name badges and SSR number, the project is complete. Too cold to do this at the moment.

Two x 55 litre fuel tanks (providing sufficient go-go juice to get me around each of the islands on the Round the Island gigs) now affixed to an epoxied plywood base and secured with four continuous ratchet straps (fantastic product from Union Industries in Leeds) and with a couple of fuel taps secured to transom so switch over should be simple.

Probably have to take it reasonably steady until a few litres have been burned on account of the increased weight on the ar$e end but I'm sure my counterbalancing 18 stone up front will prove adequate....

Oh, and I came a cross a super little 12v 50w diver's torch and bracket that fitted the bill too. Couldn't justify the price of an Aldis lamp!

Bring on Easter weekend

Cheers Gareth.

Back overseas on Monday for 5 weeks and when I get back in April it'll be time to get it outside and let loose the Fairy power spray and some elbow grease on the toobs before heading down to Caernarfon in readiness for the Easter gig.

Can't wait.

Not quite in the Macrib league but I'm very pleased with the end result and look forward to meeting you all at one of the Round the Island events later in the year.

Tony

Give us a shout if you want to launch at Caernarfon before the Easter do as my boat should be based down there by then (providing the boss doesn't keep screwing up my plans )
