where are all the ribs for sale?
As the title says really...
Back in the day Boatsandoutboards had plenty of ribs for sale, now its a mixture of a few dealers and scams with little else.
We are looking for an 8 meter plus rib, outboard preferred but could do inboard. leisure orientated (over the more commercial look).
where are people selling their ribs these days?

It's freezing cold and nobody wants to sell yet?

Dry stacks often have boats for sale - Southampton Dry Stack have a few that may fit your bill.

There were 22 posted here during the month of February - a few have sold. There's a 7.5m Scorpion amongst the remains
In my experience over the last decade, the market really only heats up in March and peaks in April. The tat surfaces and sells in May/June. If you are looking for something particular (as you are) then I suspect a single website solution is unlikely - you might do well to spread the word on the broker network and beyond.

Thanks all,
Of course, I'm looking lots of sites but there is an absolute lack at the moment.
We missed the "perfect" rib for us back in November as we were moving house and i couldn't manage everything at the same time.
We are in no great rush and will keep looking for whats right. maybe March / April will see some more to market?
i see there has been some on here but so far, nothing that quite hits the spot..

That's not quite what I mean. I'm referring to the boats that WILL be for sale come April/May. If you get the word around, you might get a foot in the door. I can think of any number of boats that sold before they were for sale
No harm/cost in putting a post in "RIBs Wanted" on here either. OK, you'll get some unhelpful replies, but heh!

The usual buyer beware principles apply but the lack of anonymity means it certainly feels like it may be less dodgy than gumtree etc.

FAFB is very good. Maybe a tad agricultural for what you're looking for, but good all the same.

There is no such thing as seasons for Ribbing, just the right craft, the right clothing, reliability and common sense. Did cross Channel trip to Guernsey two weeks ago from Southampton (just before the snow) and very pleasant on way out but a little bumpy on way back two days later.
I can help with a 8m+ used Rib if you are still looking for one and pleased to assist in any way. My contact number is 07710 109424.

Me too, do you know something? is this the one that sat in HMS Collingwood for some years with the gearbox missing, grass growing on the deck and a small tree out of the drain well?
