Another beautiful day here on the south coast. Second trip out in the rib today.launched

from Baiter slip in Poole and currently on the beach having a picnic in the corner of Swanage bay under Ballard down . Time for a swim I think :-) can't remember the last time I wanted to do that in the uk..

Lucky ole you. Have you given up working for a living. It must have been heaven the conditions could not be better. Richard J popped over en route to Stormoway it was lovely to see him in Tayvallich he bet you to it!!

We had our first trip out in the newly acquired Bombarb 380 yesterday.
Launched from Baiter, had a poodle around the harbour,round to Lake pier area ,then headed out of the harbour in a mass of boats around an hour before high tide.
The Sib was fantastic got a bit bumpy at the mouth of the harbour, due to the mad rush of boats more than any tidal conditions I think . Once out we headed past Old Harry for a little way, then headed back around 2.30pm.
Did 19.9 nautical miles. Mostly took it very steady partly because of the speed limits, partly because first time in new boat. Did a few blasts at just over 15 knots. On plane the sib is great, funny feeling when accelerating with the nose up then it comes down as you reach planing speed and it suddenly takes off

had to slow down until I got used to it.

I can't find my camera since we moved so no pictures unfortunately.

The car park at baiter was heaving when we came in. People were still arriving at 3pm when we left, no spaces at all, especially if you needed trailer parking.

what a weekend!!!!
Sat fishing off the Lizard plenty of fish. Camping on one of the lovely coves on the Helford river and going for a twilight ride with no wind and a sticky warm air!
Today early start to fish explore and have fun

We asked the parking attendants when we got there about 12ish and they told us to park on the grass/park with all the other boaters and just buy a ticket as if using the parking bays.
Very shallow angle on the slipway..... Had to use a rope between the trailer and car for launch/recovery and completely submerge trailer :-( & managed to ding both props on the bottom once afloat! But had a great day :-)
Didn't know about the wash down taps would have taken my hose and flush muffs. It was only out second trip out. Glad you had a great time.

Calshot to Yarmouth with Matt h today, lots of sun and the famous Solent chop

Had Nachos in the Wheatsheaf

and as we had paid £7 to moor the boats we walked over the bridge and up the road to the beach, wish we had just taken the boats though

but will do next time.

My family enjoyed it, but a long day for the little Whispers...

Took Lunasea out to see the Bastille Day celebrations at La Perouse in Botany Bay and then lunch up the Georges River.
