Where can I see an Osprey XR 24?

Does anyone know where I can see an Osprey XR 24 please? I'd like to have a good look over one and take some photos. I've seen photos of the XR 18 and 20, but not the 24.

Can anyone tell me how this RIB performs, whether it has any nasty habits compared with modern boats? I think it won the odd race in the 1990s, so presumably its pretty fast. I'm in the Midlands, willing to travel quite a long way to see one (the sea's the same distance in all directions!!!), but the closest one I know of at the moment is in Oban.

To be clear, I'm not looking for boats that are for sale, just one I can have a look at and drool a bit. Thanks.

Yes very fast boats in there day and still are. Designed to take ahalf tonne payload very quickly. The moulds are still available if you want a new one. They are held by Reiver Boats.

An account of the early history on Osrpey Ribs here:

Worth doing a search on Ribnet for more information.

The xr 24 was a decent machine - we sold a few to the guys that came to Standish with a gold coloured bullet proof granada ghia - i took them to lake windemere when the sun went down to use some special goggles - to teach them how to drive @ 50kts + under cover of darkenss in warmer climes....... - fabulous machine with a 250 on the back - annoying chine ride going thro 44 kts - but clear by 47+ big smiles machine....... ahhhh those were the days..... probably why my back is shagged....!!!!
