Some people use wave or swell height - which is the trough to peak height of the wave in the open ocean - which is the 6ft on Magicseaweed - but some surfers use the mythical 'wave-face' height, which can (in perfect conditions, so I am led to believe) be double the wave height as it breaks - if held up by the wind, giving really hollow conditions - whoa dude....
Which might explain it...
Anyway - apparently at 10pm this evening at Barmouth - 7.5ft swell, 5* rated swell, raining, but the sun will be popping out from behind the rain cloud (
), I might have to get my shortboard out......NOT...
