Where can you buy petol, quayside in the UK

I am putting together a Google Map of the UK showing where you can buy Petrol, while your rib is still in the water. It is getting increasingly hard to find refuelling places when you are out of your home territory so hopefully a map will help everyone.

I am planning a circumnavigation of the UK, and do not look forward to the prospect of refuelling 2 boats by Jerry cans, from a petrol station 4 miles away, and getting a local taxi driver to transport the fuel.

The map I have so far is at

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...87c7480505cbb6

The map has been put together using information from www.boatlaunch.co.uk and trawling the internet.

As you can see the south coast & Clyde are well set up, but almost everywhere else there are huge gaps between the fuel pumps I have found so far.

Can you all check the map and post some messages as to where else fuel is available, even if is a matter of "Call Joe on .... and he will meet you on the quay with a bowser of fuel"

I will add extra locations to the map, and keep it open for everyone to view.

Quayside Petrol Channel Isles & Eire

Yes please, do let me know where the fueling locations are on the Channel Isles, and I think it would be equally suitable to add all of Eire

Thanks

I have added Mylor & the 2 on Jersey. The Jersey map worked well thanks.

I have sole editorial rights on the google map, I could open it up to everyone, but then it could get spoilt, so let me know any thoughts.

If you give me a postcode / name of a marina or something I can find on Google I will add the fuel location to my original map.

keep them coming thanks

Probably not a good idea without some sort of moderation

I think there are 2 places in West Cowes, (Isle of Wight). I think one is Lallows.

Any plans to add diesel as well as some places do diesel but not petrol?

There a good numberbof places in Poole harbours,

1. The fuel barge in the actual harbour
2. At parkstone bay marina
3. At cobs quay marina
4. At the fuel stop near sun seeker yachts and then lifting bridge

It would be nice to see locals forward some up to date details to the op as well, opening hours, contact numbers, vhf channels, tidal access etc. Apologies to him if I'm creating more work!

Worth putting a link in the downloads section too JK

Keep those locations coming.

I had not planned to list all the extra diesel only sites, as there never seems to be a porblem finding diesel. Every small harbour I have been to which has more than a couple of fishing boats, seems to have a supply of diesel.

Not sure the fuel stop does Petrol ( corrals I think) , Salterns Marina in Poole also do it .

Worth noting the fuel barge supply can be 'intermittent' out of season.... can be iffy in season too though....

Phone numbers added above.
