Where to buy a canvas bucket???
Wierd question I know, but I saw one on a boat in the marina and want one. Its just a small bailer on the end of a piece of line, used for getting water to wash down the deck. Any ideas where I could find one?

Can you let me know what it's like, I quite fancied one myself re the ease of storage on my little boat.
I bought a 5kg flook flying anchor for a tenner (+ free delivery) from them to keep as a spare, blimey that is one amazing anchor, it glides through the water like a stealth bomber to the sea bed and hooks in. I don't have any chain with that one as it is a spare, but Jimmy Marine spliced the rope for me with the fittings, nice job.

Read about these anchors years ago - may just try one out - ideal as a kedge anchor.

Bucket and line has arrived in post today and it is great. Two metres of line splived on, 2 gallon bucket, perfect for swilling the deck and easy to store. £17 well spent I reckon.

As far as the line and splicing went I just took their advice. It seems they often fit a two metre line to these buckets.
Failing that tell them the same bucket as Oliver Vaulkhard in Newcastle upon Tyne bought.

Jimmy Green's is a "top shop".
Our esteemed leader JK, put me on to them and I have to say their service level is fantastic. Here is their website, they do mail order, just in case there is anyone on this forum who does not fancy a trip to Beer!!

I ordered my bucket and rope, and also bought a pack of Paines Wessex 8 mini flares for keeping in my jacket, just in case The flares were £29.99 and are dated to expire 2007, so a little personal insurance there. I bet if I was overboard or needed help and didn't have them, I would wish I had paid out the price of a curry for them Oh and free postage to ease the 'pain'
Other deals here :- http://www.jimmygreen.co.uk/chandlery/deals.htm
Have a good day
Jimmy Green

True to form Brian, just got home and Jimmy Green have performed as usual with the 'next day' delivery of my bucket and flares, well done! and how refreshing to get such an excellent service. The personal flare pack has a fixing point for a lanyard to attach it to your jacket or life vest, this will now be a part of my personal safety kit, especially useful on the dark winter evening when out and about Visibility of 5 miles in daylight and 10 miles at night with 8 mini flares, good enough for me.
