where to buy a console......

hi

i am in the process of spec-ing a new rib, it going to be a 7m Coastline with a cummins QSD 2.0L 150hp stern drive.

i have the interior layout pretty much sorted. going to be doing the fit out myself as im in the trade and i just prefer it that way.

i have found the seats i want, but am having real difficulty finding a console that i like and would fit to my boat.......

what i am after is a double person width, 85-90 cm wide console that is fairly high with enough room to fit all the instruments so it does not look crowded!!

Outhill do a real nice looking one, but they wont supply to me without the upholstry and i just dont want or need it..... all other boat builders i have asked either just dont reply or will not supply just a console........

i find this very odd, business must be very good for everyone out there!!

any help with finding a console supplier.........

thanks

give these boys a shot,

but may I ask as to why you just don't build one your self to your own spec?

I know buying one is the easy option, and not really in keeping with the RIB.net philosophy

Windsor Brothers in Hambledon supply their double width console that they use in their Ocean range as a seperate item.

I have one in my Ocean, but both Hightower and Pete7 have brought them seperately.

A search of Hightowers build thread should give you an image of one.

Might be worth a look.

Leeway Composites (member on here) also do a console of the size you're looking for, but it may be too low for you?

Which Outhill console are you interested in? Ribquest have developed their own console, which, to me, bears a remarkable resemblance to one of the Outhill consoles, so if it suits you, they may be able to make one for you.

Humber & Solent also produce consoles 'similar' to this.

thanks for all the replys guys, its all very good info.

i have tried most of the companies mentioned, some just wont supply separate items without buying a boat! some dont call back and the guys at outhill siad twice they would not supply with out upholstry!!!!

the one i like is the outhill cc14, i know there are 'very similar' consoles out there but i just cant seem to get anyone to sell me one as i require it!!

the search continues.....

cheers
