Here's hoping for a good September!
Back in April I was looking forward to the summer. I haven't got out on the water once yet.
Unexpected surgery and chemo scuppered those plans.
September is the month chaps...

We've just returned from Dartmouth, the end of last week was fantastic.
Great to meet up briefly with Lakelandterrier, and as always it was nice to bump into Ed.
As usual our favourite beach, beesands, was deserted even more this year because most of it was washed away during the winter.
Oh and The Nashers Revenge provided a great platform for our two and some of our friends teenagers to jump from.
Nasher.

Where's summer gone?
It never arrived!
There are farmers around here that haven't cut silage yet!

Aye apart from their present hardship we are all going to feel the backlash of this non-😄summer with increased prices

Tell me about it, I've been phoning about the last few days looking for silage to feed the stags this winter, everybody seems to suck through their teeth and say they will see what the prices are like before committing to sell.
I've never seen a poor farmer yet!

I think summer in the West of Scotland was on a Wednesday this year!!!!!
I've given up on the Sib.
Started my winter hobbies of hillwalking and bothying a few weeks back.
It really has been a sh*t summer!

I'm genuinely surprised that most comments are about a bad summer.
From a non boating perspective I thought it has been pretty good. I do a lot of mountain biking and its been very warm and dry since early spring. I ride 2 to 4 times a week and cant remember it being wet or shite.
My boat is in the Med, so I've not experienced it from a boating point of view - so in that respect has it been too windy / wet / cold ?

All the above
Jet stream unseasonably low over the UK, lots of media outlets claiming its one of the windiest summers on record

Officially it is looking like the windiest year in over 20 years with only 8 days I think I read in the entire year being classed as calm so far. I.e less than 11 knots of wind I think is the official line.
I can only think of 1 day the temps have been in the 20's up here, it was a few weeks back.
Right now it is a fairly typical summer day up here for this year. Must be gusting in the 30mph range looking outside and chucking it down.
Cheers

I could live with it being windy (within reason) but it is usually accompanied with long periods of rain up here with temps being autum like at best.
On the plus side, petrol bill has been cheap this year!
Cheers
