Which one !! Yam f100 or merc 90

I've been offered both of these but which is the better lump, both low hours with history, I'm replacing my tohatsu 80hp 2stroke with one, the yam is 2002 100hp and the merc is 2005 90hp I've searched and read what I can but I thought you guys would know better !!

The Merc 90 is essentially Yam powerhead,

Generally it makes sense to say go newer where possible but on a straight choice of the two, assuming price isn't a factor and they both have similar hours/history I'd go with the Yam.

Yep go newer, any four stroke around 2002 you will expect failing voltage regulator £350, oil pumps getting weak and leak oil £600 job, water pipes crushed by corrosion £1000, power trim motors and ram seals failing £500, bottom crank seals leaking. Are things we see all the time.

Funnily enough that's what I thought but didn't want to say it for fear of being shot down by the four stroke police 😉
