Who can tell me what that front roller is for?

Hi All,

New to the forum. 'bought' a 4m30 rib that I will be happy to get in a few months from now. Got lot's of questions but will make seperate topics.

In my search for a nice rib I came across one with the following structure on top of the bow:

I get why there is a cleat there. But wondering what the roller/bearing type thing is used for?

Is it for realing in an anchor? or used when docking? or something else entirely?

Hope someone know the answer for me. Thanks!
