Wild Camping North Wales

My 9 year old son and I are looking to do an overnight camping trip somewhere along the Llyn peninsula this year possibly in May/June weather depending.
We will be launching from near Barmouth, cross the bay up past Abersoch and then hopefully anchoring up in one of the small coves along the peninsula. Not too bothered about a campsite as we are happy to "wild camp"

Haven't ventured up past Abersoch yet so any advise/suggestions on suitable locations would be great. Thanks

There is a place called whistling sands or Porth Orr as it is on a map. I stayed overnight last year there on the boat. It is not far from bardsey Island heading back towards Caernarfon. There was talk of arranging an overnight here but don't think anything has come of it.

Wrekindave, there is a campsite on Shell Island I have not stayed on it but I believe it's okay. The only other place I can think off for wild camping is the grass lands at Holyhead. Plus safe mooring at the marina for your rib

LOL, hardly a gin palace with no shower ;-)

Fight to the end in the football by the looks of it?

We need to arrange a date to camp here in the summer, great location and easy accessible but would possibly
Have to leave ribs at anchor? Good holding though, sandy bottom 10-18 foot deep

Maybe we could incorporate this into our annual round Anglesey fishing camping weekend forgetting Anglesey due to no fish and doing bardsey instead

Thanks Kenny we launch 1 mile up the beach from shell island so wanted to venture a bit further afield. I think whistling sands looks promising after a look on the map though. Thanks
