Hmm! I stated actual HP, maximum hp is slightly more. So would bring the ratio closer to unity.

Correct Mr Polly,
The results as always are dependent on the quality of data used just so how good a rule of thumb Mr. Wilk's theory was. My correlation was on the data given across the sample which was actual engine size which I did not independently validate!

I 'm sure different sizes of tanks are also available on the same size boat, so which figure then to use?

Who knows, there is probably a degree thesis or PhD somewhere in this.

Interesting. Our new 11m has 1200hp and 1200 litres so it still holds to your equation.
