What about cruising speed

I thought these days it wasn't worth putting a motorboat on the lakes, shame as I would have loved to be on clean fresh water.

10 knots 12mph enough to plane.

not everyone's cup of tea, but great views and good fishing!

boats just get bigger

apart from 2010 we have been to the Lakes every year since 2005.The kids won't let us go anywhere else! a combination of breathtaking scenery, water, fishing, Grasmere ginger bread, etc

This is probably what got me hooked on boating! THE STORY SO FAR

2005 I bought a intex dinghy and took it on Coniston....had some fun but wanted quicker
2006 I I bought a seago 270
2007 I bought a small 3.3 Mariner....had some fun but it wouldn't plane.
2009 I bought a Honwave t40 with a 30hp Yamaha 2 stroke, a great boat, very quick! I started taking my boat onto the sea at this point, and wasn't fond of the tiller steer, so started looking at fitting a console and Teleflex steering.......decided to change the boat and keep the engine.
2010 I bought my xs 4m rib, fitted out with my 30hp yam at the xs factory.
2013 will be the third time "Lilly" has been up to Windermere......4 weeks to go!

How does the little car tow your rib? Do you use it on slip ways? Going to be trailering my sib with a fwd just wondered what it was like. Going to try and avoid dipping it into the water

fine its not that heavy, and the slip for windermere is not very steep so no probs.
mostly use the merc to launch and retrieve though

its an odd one....... there is a 10 knot speed limit

but people ski and wakeboard in the evenings, and as long as no one takes the mick, they get left alone.

I just love cruising the 11 miles, and fish in the evenings. the kids have kneeboarded

Heading to Windermere tomorrow for 2 nights going to have look at campsites and investigate possibility of taking my rib next yr, do you have to have 3rd party ins? Also register the boat on lake with authorities etc ????
