xs rib 760 sport, underpowered??

Hi everyone, I'm looking at buying a 2014 xs rib 760 sport.
The price is very attractive but it only has a 150hp. That's not much motor to push a 7.6 meter rib. Does anyone on here have any experience with this model? I believe they were produced as a package by XS with this motor, probably to keep the cost right down. I'm going to have at least a family of 4 on board possibly doing some long range cruising and towing toys. I don't need to go everywhere at 40 knts but i also don't want to asking passengers to move forward to get up on the plane.
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Do you know which 150hp engine it is?

I'd assume a top end of mid 30's with that hull/engine combo, but the easy way to find out is to phone Laurence at XS - he's always super helpful and I'm sure would be happy to advise on the expected performance.

As you’ve eluded too probably underpowered, I owned a Stingher 8m a few years ago which had a 300 Verado on the back, that topped out late 40’s and had the right power-to-weight for the size of boat, coping with numerous passengers or towing toy’s, I recon anything less and it would have struggled. Also in heavy seas it’s nice to have some spare ‘punch’ if you need to climb out of troughs.

I assume the current owner can run the boat ok but I suspect it’s at the minimum power for that size of boat.
I had a Merc 150 on an XS650, with 4 up it was nicely powered but not over powered so while a 760 benefits from hull length it will be heavier. Not sure if 760 is the smallest of the wider beam boats (750 is I think) or a stretch of the 700 which would be another consideration.

As mentioned above I’d lift the phone and speak to Laurence.
