Slow going Chris...still waiting on two seats and the weather isn't looking great. If I can get seats this week I may try on the river on Sat, then possibly a real run at speed next week(a week off work!)

In your week off I am more than happy to take a day off work (a Tue Wed or Thurs is best for me) and meet you at Calshot for a days ribbing in two SR4's

Thanks Chris. I'll see if I can get it to a Solent worthy state, watch the weather and be in touch.

I'll call you over the weekend. Tides look OK, as long as we launch earlyish before the slip turns into metres of green slime. I have recovered at low water before but it was a scary recovery, had to engage 4WD

Eventually went and got seats late morning. Looking much better now .
Dash a better colour, seats like new , things checked over , new trailer tyres and wheels following popping one
Now I just need time and weather and luck it doesn't brake down to get some use from it. I even made light cover for seats so they stay dry ...don't think they will stay dry when its used !

Finally grabbed an hour between rain and stuff this lunchtime....
Johnson runs well (no stalling issues), but as it was very very windy I stayed in the harbour - so no chance to really run it to full speed but it leaps out of the water . Great pick up . Full marks to Mike & South Coast Outbaords - as usual a quick nip in to get some paint and I'm there for an hour talking about Evinrude and the boat shows etc ( Love the fact I walk in say I have a 1990 engine and are after some paint - he turns round and instantly picks up the right one off the shelf and its only £11 ! ) - Totally the best place for evinrude 'stuff' and spares - most of which he carries
As usual huge smile on my face to have a go onan SR again in this set up after such a long time. If any RIBnobbers want a go - just PM me and head on down. Maybe for a donation to the Macmillan build ? ( or is that illegal ? - probably ... ) .
Fingers crossed for weather next Sunday ( I'm doing 1st aid Sat - need to drop chq off to Avocet tomorrow and call in to Longjohn ))
Watch the weather forecast - next sunday calm clear and off I go !

When the high winds eventually subside, give me a shout and we can have a SR4's trip out in The Solent. Weekday (preferable) or weekend. It looks like the high winds are here to stay for a while though.

Oh yes please, have brought mine back from Devon for the winter, tucked up in the garage for now being given a bit of TLC after a hard year in Salcombe!

How about 23rd or 24th Nov subject to weather. High tide Portsmouth is 1430 ish on the Sat so we would be OK if we wanted to visit somewhere tidal, e.g. Ryde harbour.
