you thought your fuel bills were high

I attach a pic of the biggest rib & most outboards seen to date & causing a fair bit of interest here in the marina today, even the Police were having a good look. I reckon it is one or more of the following

An impounded drug running boat
An impounded North African people running boat
A naval exercise boat

I´ll have a better look tomorrow but it has to be 12 meters long or so, & 800 hp! must hold on to my Shell shares now. Actually the impounded running boats are stored in dry dock as evidence in court & they are painted all black, so must be a Spanish Navy boat.

LOL I think that's a Crompton. Wouldn't bet on it being a Spanish Navy boat...

I'm quite surprised their website is still up.

One of the 'new' ones from the Crompton moulds?

It looks quite similar to this 13m Crompton Sea Phantom from their website. The seating appears to be made by the same company at least and the console/screen looks very close.:-

I don't think they will have any problems keeping up with the Americas Cup boats do you?

Yes it looks very similiar, this is a Madera wich also is very similiar, same seat config, console looks the same.
I think its exactly this boat, same fendering, same compass, same engines same patches, grabhandles starts at the same place, a couple of meters before the bow on the outside, the starboard tube is punktured thats why its on the inside.

Might also have something to do with Madera actively seeking the Crompton moulds after the Crompton assets were auctioned...

You've got to admit they are very very sexy boats too.

Some specs for the Crompton with 8 engines-20m long, 5.8m wide. 11 chambers on the tubes, 7 watertight compartments ( ) 60 knots, Dry weight 11,000kg but carries 20,000 litres of fuel... and 1,100,000 Euro pricetag when new...
