Yer! Last time I saw something like that was on the RI2103. We were headed for Inishtrahull (most northernly point) and there was a wall to wall version of that. We were headed into it at 30kts. As we approached, lightning split the sky and met the sea a couple of miles dead ahead of us. I voiced my concerns...
...and the Scion of RBB said: "But sure, lightning never strikes twice!" and we continued forthwith at supercruise
Just what I thought when the next one hit us head on. We were out fishing & I've never seen/experienced rain like it. The sea went from 2m chop to flat just under the weight of the rain. Both bilge pumps were running constantly for about 10 mins, then the sun came out & we were steaming

yep that was an interesting day ... and pictures were the last thing going through my mind that day, thats for sure ....
