zapcat / thundercat communication?

I know this probably should go in the electronics section, but i'd be obliged if mods could leave it here for a little bit, so more could see it!!

Planning on getting a Zapcat or Thundercat in the next week or so, and was wondering if anyone has any knowledge/experience of an onboard communication system working within the helmets of both crew, but then also able to integrate with a handheld VHF? I remember seeing a guy using one some time back, but I'll be damned if I can remember what it was!!

Send a message via MSN to Jon Brooks
the last thing you want in one of those is to have the crew joined by a cable!!!

I would suggest you look at wireless and maybe chat to Gecko as they have a bluetooth system......not cheap though!

Fair point Jon. I was out today for the first time in a zapcat (getting my own in the next week). Flew over from Ireland and did an hour or so in Brighton. Doing a full day tomorrow with Doug in Stormforce - hopefully the aul bones won't ache too much when the alarm goes in the morning.

What I did notice today was that when you're belting along no communication system is going to help. I guess you need to practice beforehand so that both pilot and co-pilot know what to expect from one another. (Oh, and keep your tongue inside your head ... as I found out the hard way!)

Hell of a buzz though
