Zodiac 733 transom material?

Hi,

Is the transom of a Zodiac 733 constructed of a foam core material? I'm looking to plug the outdrive hole and with a little grinding it does look to not be plywood. I have seen some references to them being wood free but nothing concrete. I'm debating if I want to use a synthetic core material to form the plug. The biggest downside to the foam cores seems to be cost but I can live with that. I'd like to do it right once.

Thanks,
Jason
