Zodiac PRO Hypalon tube detachment

Hi guys,

I have a 2012 Zodiac PRO in great shape, only the Hypalon tube has become detached from the entire port side. I love this boat. What should I do? Can i deflate and re-glue? anyone had this problem? Thanks, Ben

Welcome to the forum.

Zodiacs have slide on tube system. If the hypalon tube has detached from the bolt rail, then it can be repaired with 2-part glue. It sounds however if it’s along one length, that’s a pretty catastrophic failure. Preparation is everything, effected by humidity and temperature. The tube will need to be degreased, lightly sanded on area for repair, masked, etc. You will also need to inflate to pressure. If you’re not confident to repair yourself, see if any specialists in your area.

If it were me, I’d also reinforce the repair with a length of hypalon to act as an additional seam over the bolt rope hypalon fabric seam.

You can of course replace with a new tubeset. Check out Defender Industries as your state side, but you can also look up Zodiac dealers.

tube detachment

Been working on inflatables for over 30 years and Never seen a bolt rope come off on a Hypalon set. Only on the PVC and Sharc polyurethane sets.
