Ok thanks. Question. The oil pump has 2 hoses going to the carb intake. Is the oil just supposed to drip out of these hoses right into the carb Venturi?

Hull turned out OK. Mounted the Garmin Downview transducer. Don't think it will be in the way.

Just about done. Tubes will be cleaned more. Does anyone know how to get these stains off the rub rail?

Looks really nice and clean. I'm surprised the tubes look that good considering how PVC likes the Sun.

Try chlorine bleach or any brand of mold and mildew remover.

Hi Tony,

Yes that's correct, it dribbles in at the carb, just below the air filter mesh - its a shockingly crude system and best bypassed. Premix your fuel (500ml oil to 20ltrs gas) and remove this single point of failure.

Hi Tony,

I had the same on my Ribeye, nothing touched it until I tried the below - they breakdown the surface layer slightly releasing the marks.

Ribstore Toluene Hypalon Fabric Cleaner Primer Solvent 250ml 500ml

Ribstore MEK PVC solvent for PVC RIB and Dinghy Repairs - 250ml or...

You'd need to source locally, but I promise you it'll shift it!

Chlorine only lightens the color of the mold, it won't kill it...

I would treat it with a hydrogen peroxide Mold / Mildew remover, then, any residual spotting or grime, I would scrub with Soft-Scrub cream cleanser.

At the very extreme, you can "burn" the top layer of the material off with a rag and some solvent... xylene, toluene, or MEK works fine.

Thanks guys. I have MEK and Toluene in my shop. I will try that. If it does not come off, how well will paint stick? What kind?

Try the MEK and Toluene first. I wouldn't be painting that, although you can buy tube paint that might work?

Use a paint/dye formulated for vinyl.

I've used SEM Vinylcoat with good success.

Hello Tony, just joined and came across your offer to email a copy of the zodiac projet 420 manual. I'm going to buy a 2002 this Sunday and sure would appreciate a copy of the manual for the hull and the Yamaha 2 stroke engine.
Here is my email, marks308win@yahoo.com
Look forward to it. Please do not hesitate to contact with any questions or advice. I am a machinist and mechanic.
Thank you for your time,
Mark

This thread is from 2016.
If you're lucky he might still look at the site but his last activity is shown as August 2022.

Thanks paintman. I noticed, but was hoping he would see it. Any help you could be tracking down manuals would be appreciated also.
Thanks,
Mark
