3.5-4hp outboard and advice!

hello people!
i am new to the RIB market.
all of my frineds seem to have a boat of some sort and i want to be one of them!!
i am looking to buy a bombard ax 2000 if you have any comments on this boat or any advice to give to me about buying a small 2.2m rib then please tell me. i am also looking for a 3.5- 4 hp outboard for it i have a budget of a max £250 for the engine and ideally i am looking for a secondhand outboard within a 50 mile radius of christchuirch dorset, if you own or know of someone that is trying to get rid of a 3.5- 4 hp engine please tell me and give contat details.

Hi & welcome - I reckon the AX 2000 would be good for the harbour / mudeford ! I had an Ax3 with 3.5 Johnson that planed with my 14 stone in it ! I now have AX2 airdeck that cant plane at all with a 2.5 yam !

After that an old Avon 310 rib with 8 hp Johnson that flew ! clearly never breaking the 4knts speed limit . Be wary of the run as even 5hp can see you going backwards at times !

Maybe keep an eye on the local OB places to see what they get in or get to know about or look at the postcards in the newsagents as you do see some absolute bargains in the spring ( or try a wanted one ? )

Or the notice board in the 'beach hut could also prove a winner ? Hope you get what you want & make sure you post some pics !
