It would be good to hear that someone on here had bought it for the asking price (or a bit less )
.....but I doubt very much that will happen

If you keep your eyes open I think you'd be surprised quite what you can pick up for your money.

I'm sure there are bargains to be had, but I go back to the original post...
'First 4m+ RIB for family for the west coast of Scotland to pull skiers and toys.'
I was there during the summer, again! Depending where you are on the west coast - then first land after Lewis in the Outer Hebrides is St Kilda. Assuming you miss that, then it's Nova Scotia. I'd be looking for a tried and tested Yammie engine for starters with more receipts than your average EC Commissioner!

Having spent the last few months looking for a first RIB on a 5k budget, I'd say the budget is a bit tight tbh. I feel I've been lucky to get a well sorted RIB which has had a lot of work done, but still has a 20 year old engine which I'm not entirely confident in, for twice that money.
I know I'm kind of blaspheming on here but for that money, and as long as you don't get too far from land or go out in rough weather, you'd be better off looking at an elderly dory or similar. Its not ideal by any means but I'm pretty sure I saw a ton of them while i was looking.
And btw, for what its worth, that Zodie at Pennine isn't anywhere near as clean as it looks in the pics.

You paid £10k for an 'umber attak with a 20yo Yam 85?
......and you feel lucky.

heh
i mean twice his £2400 budget. not twice my initial £5k budget.
Don't start pissing on my chips now Dai; I haven't even had the thing in the water yet! Believe me, this was the only thing I saw even remotely in budget that I'd even consider.

I think he means twice the OP's budget, which was £2,400. So he paid just under 5k

And there was a Ring 6m for 5k, but we're still talking double the OP's budget.

Less than that in fact. Here you go: rib valiant dr600 yamaha 150hp dive rescue | eBay
Digressing slightly, this has to be bargain of the year: USED TORNADO 8.5m Rib Inflatable Boat 2 x F90 HONDA Outboard Motor FOR REPAIR | eBay Unfortunatly despite clicking buy it now I didn't get it as they had already sold it but left it on there

To be fair that Valiant might fit OP's bill, but it's not a "4m+ rib".

Lol, was thinking more along the lines of a 6m rib with 2004 150hp and trailer, fully loaded but yes I see where your coming from
They are out there, you've just got to look harder

You said look at your site below. I don't see the 6m 2004 rib etc on there. That was my point. Not having a go.
But I see your point; at a shade over 4k that valiant is prolly a decent punt. But it's losing air and the braked trailer doesn't have any brakes. So if you have the time and the skill and the money to put that right then it's a (potential) good deal. If you've got 5k to put a boat in the water and you live 250 mile from the seller then it looks like a bit more of a stretch.
But this thread isn't about whether I bought the wrong boat for 5k, it's about whether the OP can get a serviceable "4m+ RIB" for £2400. Which I still maintain is a bit of an ask. Specially if he's in S Yorks and 75% of the stuff he's going to want to look at is on the south coast.

Well made points. I'm not questioning if you bought incorrectly. Far from it. I found the 6m one though, see below
Point is they are out there on any budget. You've done it the best way though in terms of having the option of replacing the motor at a later date if required. The main thing is to get the right boat, especially if the budget is tight.
