5.2 upto 5.5 metre rib wanted.
I am looking for a rib of around 5.2 to 5.5 metres, must be in good nick, nice seagoing hull, something like osprey 5.25 viper or similar, quite a tight budget only 7 or 8k to spend no more, cheers, Tim.

Now that would go nice with Rickuk3's 115 Yam
£4700 would get you on the water.

Tim, I have an Osprey 5.25 and its a 1996 boat, the boat on ebay states its 5.75 however I don't think they did one this size? so I guess it will be a 5.25 as well.

Osprey did do a 5.75 Viper. Ask Nick Hearne, he was the proud owner of 'rosie rib'

Martin, when are you going to take the plunge and get yourself a new boat then, you will be glad to hear that KeyMar (now Danny Boy) is getting plenty of use and is behaving perfectly. Although I can really see a nice Etec 115 hanging off the back of that transom soon

It was a pleasure - hope you get a boat that meets your needs at a price you can afford... good luck.

Yes, I went to see it to get some more info for Tim and take some pictures. I am not in any way an expert so my opinion should be taken as that of a casual observer. The boat and trailer are about 11 years old and owned by the Bo'ness Sub Aqua Club. The engine is about 16 years old, is goosed (needs major surgery following a failed piston ring) which is estimated to cost £1200 to do. I'm no good at valuing 2nd hand outboards - but I would say that makes it a right off (and I that seems to be the owners opinion too).
The boat itself was in surprisingly good condition given its age and its club use. There are some scratches and chips in the gel coat (I took some pics of these if you are interested) but generally pretty good nick. The hull is more yellow than orange than the ebay ad appears - think JCB yellow.
The tubes look in good order especially considering they have had divers sitting on them. There are no repairs and they seemed air tight. They need going over with rib revive or thinners to bring up the colour.
There was one small area of damage to the tube where it joint the hull but its an an area with extra rubber - is out of sight and doesn't seem to be leaking air - I have some pictures of this too.
The trailer is showing signs of age - with various parts being quite rusty (although probably sound). The bearings appeared to have just been regreased. The axle was replaced 5 yrs ago. Nothing terminal but I would want to give it a thorough check before towing it to south coast. I would happily tow it 50 miles without checking it in great detail - if that puts it in perspective.
Their is an aux - which the said was working - but I don't know if it is.
The electronics are pretty old. The console is in reasonable shape - but the old electrics make it look untidy and tired.
Generally I thought it was in reasonable shape. I have no idea of its true value - but my gut feel is if the engine had been in full working order it would have been advertised at something more like 6k ?
If you want to see the pics I took for Tim - then let me know and i'll email them to you - or if there is any details you want to know - and I will try to recall...
