Family Rib Wanted

We are after a rib for family cruising. Ideally no smaller than 5 meters, in good condition, ideally in the Hampshire/Dorset area. Under £9,000.

We were in the "same boat" a few years ago. In my experience you will want your family to enjoy it more than you do in order to get the usage and value out of the boat - to that end you need to get the most reliable and well looked after boat you can lay your hands on.
For cruising then 5m will be fine but maybe a bit cramped so ideally aim for 6m. I've not looked at the market right now but you'll probably need to add to or even double your budget to get something that will tick the boxes above.
We went for a Ribeye A600 2010 with a 2012 115hp engine (the orignal one was stolen from the first owner) and got a good deal direct of the very nice people at Ribeye in Dartmouth. What makes our life so much easier as well is a drystack so no slipway adventures and real ease of use. It all adds up though i know but we all absolutely love the RIB and use it most weekends year round. Good luck in your search.

Check out the Trafalgar Boat Club as well in Portsmouth - that might be a good place to start as you can join for a modest monthly fee, no capital expenditure and have access to a fleet of RIB's and weekenders to see if the family enjoy it.

A bit pessimistic.
Over the last 10 days we've done around 400nm in our 6.5 meter that didn't cost much more than the OPs budget.
My mates 2006 6.5mtr Ribeye with 150 yam didn't cost much more than that.
There's plenty nice boats around at that sort of price just do some research and don't expect to find something "two streets down from you" and be realistic about what needs doing, because I've never seen a boat that doesn't want something doing.

You have, as it happens.

Very nice boat, but the OP isn't going to see much change out of £16 - 20k.

As mentioned, be prepared to travel and start to narrow your RIB choice down, otherwise it's a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack. At the end of the season the market will have more choice. I had a look earlier and it's decidedly quiet.

Are you launch and retrieving, do you have storage for a 5-6 metre boat, etc? Jockey seats all round or rear bench?

I'll throw these in case you haven't seen them.
