I'm new to the forum. I'm interested in RIBs because I can tow them with almost any vehicle and fuel costs are low.
I'm looking for an inexpensive way to get a RIB I can use for ocean diving and to take my kids wakeboarding on the lake. I live in Southern California.
First suggestion is to make your mind up as to exactly what size boat you want and how much you want to spend-there's potentially a $30,000 price gap and up to 2 tonnes between the sizes you've posted.

Thanks Nos4r2, I'm looking for a boat that can get three divers out to the islands on a day with good conditions. I'm guessing a 15 to 18 foot boat would be ideal. The problem is I can't afford the boat I want...I'm considering buying a 12 footer starter boat for now since I might be able to get a great deal on it. I'm aware a 12 footer won't hold more than two divers with minimal gear.
