Rib 6.3 to 7.5 Wanted
Hi,
I am looking for a Rib, preferably Ribcraft or Humber with a 150hp+ 4 stroke (prefer Suzuki or Yam), 6.3 to 7.5 in good condition. Not new, not old!
Must have all paperwork, not high hours, service history and good roadworthy road trailer.
4 jockey seats and a decent under floor fuel capacity.
I have been looking for a while and can not find something that fits, I had hoped to get something prior to summer prices- but have failed!
Cheers
Harry

I think you'll need to give an idea of budget prices in this range can vary hugely.

Thanks for the advice. My budget will depend on what is on the market. I can get new for under £30k at the small end and I can get a good second hand larger Ribcraft for same price. I do not want to go that high and I have looked at a number around the £15k selling price (not asking price) but have not been happy with the boats. As a Rib owner for many years (as well as my Motor Cruiser) I know the market reasonably well. If someone was looking for a serous buyer on Ribnet they may well look at Rib's wanted, hence post.
Thanks again for your advice.
Harry

IMHO for 6.3 and bigger, for low hours and a nice decent boat just out of warranty you'll need £20k.
£15k might get you a low hours 5.8 or 6m. But 6.3 upwards everything including engines gets bigger, the beam typically gets bigger which means a MUCH BIGGER BOAT. In volume, so you need bigger tanks, more seating usually, bigger trailer, bigger engine etc.... So the price does too.

This was nice but a 10yr old boat with 4yr old engine and at the smallest end of your choice, was still high teens.

This is on Apollo Duck just now. Very nice looking Ribcraft 7.5m with Suzuki DF200. Plenty seating, all jockey style, blue tubes, grey rubbing strips. £23k
Ribcraft 7.5 for sale UK, Ribcraft boats for sale, Ribcraft used boat sales, Ribcraft Inflatable Boats For Sale RIBCRAFT 7.5 - Apollo Duck
Lot of boat for the money. A new Ribquest 6.3m with Suzuki DF150, side by side jockeys and rear seats is coming in at £40k (Bosun's Locker, Edinburgh).

Thanks Xk59D and Spartacus.
I have seen the Redbay, 400+ hours with uncertain history and as you say a bit rough. In my view if you let your boat get as bashed up as she is (chines, hull and bottom of outboard leg) you probs haven't looked after the rest if her!
The Ribcraft great boat and good price, the engine has done over 800+ hours which is too many for me - interestingly the ad hours is significantly different!
I have a few leads (thanks Ribnet and others) so am following up at present.
Many thanks to all.
Harry
