Ribcraft 4.8 or similar wanted 6k.

We are looking for a Ribcraft 4.8 with anything from 40hp plus on the back.

Must be on a good trailer and the engine needs PTT.

Needs to be in good condition with tubes 100%.

We will also consider other makes such as a searider SR4 or 4.7 providing they come with minimum of 2 seats, which must be jockey layout.

Boat will be used in coastal waters at all times of the year and be able to take a pounding, hence why ribcraft is first choice.

Budget is up to 6k but could push slightly for the right boat.

If you have anything or hear of anything matching this we would be really very grateful if you could let us know.

Nothing over 4.8 though due to garage.

Will consider all ages of seariders but must be in very good condition and ready to go.

Thats a massive journey for us i'm sorry to say. we did see it but its really just that bit too far. We are happy to travel a few hours but that one is out of reach. We bloody missed one for sale in Portsmouth by two days.

In which case you have the same plan as us, we already have a boat and will make do until as you say, the right one turns up. They seem to be very hard to get hold of, unless you've got nearer 9k, which unless i win the lotto, i dont.

I noticed yesterday that Trouts boatyard in Topsham have a 4.8m Ribcraft for sale £6,750 I think, if that helps? Just checked and it's on their website also.

Hi Hamish, yep i found that one last night too. I've emailed but they are shut today. It appears to only have one jockey seat.

Any ideas anyone how much it would be to get another added, as one seat is no good at all?

Thoughts on a Zodiac Pro 420, are they quite strong?

Hi,

Probably too small for you but I have a Ceasar T400 (4.2m) with 50hp Honda PTT that will be up for sale soon for around £4500.00 if its of any interest. I think from memory the boat & engine are 2005-2006. Not mint condition but perfectly serviceable as it stands.

Hi Matt Just read your message rib wanted , i have a hummber 4.7 Assault with a mariner 60hp Bigfoot Which is sat in my garage on trailer. A frame has been made sorter, rib has 1 jocky seat
i have another which needs glassing in. Have owned rib Two years with very little use /hense might be persuaded to sell if right offer was made close to what i paided.if interested will find my paper work on boat i think engine and rib are 2001 with very little use.Regards John.

Hi Matt, well we had to change plans a little, well actually a lot. After a lot of measuring both length and height wise, the Ribcraft was never going to fit in our old garage, so we had to go for something smaller.

Ended up with a very clean Zodiac Pro 420 with Honda 40 4s. All as new with only a few hours. Just had it all serviced and honda delaership described it as new.

I know its somewhat different to a ribcraft (a huge amount) but the wife convinced me we needed something more family orientated.

Took it out the other day for the first time and it was amazing, so different to my little old rib tender valiant. Handled the chop really comfortably and i have no regrets. Looking forward to a great summer now and trips out to the old forts which we couldnt do in the old boat.
