to be honest, I don't think I've ever seen a Balistic rib, but the layouts looked family friendly, hence my comments. I guess there are plenty on here who would knock Revengers, but we like it, does what it says on the tin

I commissioned a Ribeye 600 as my weapon of choice for the round Ireland. Great little hull.

I work as a Marine consultant so naturally modified my version to suit our requirements. We fitted some special kit and the guys remained flexible, helpful and hard working throughout, completing the boat on time and without hick up.

Personally I prefer the 600 over the 650, I think it sits better in the water! However the 650 is a very beamy boat so benefits from better carrying capacity.

Ballistics are built by Boating Dynamix in SA. They USED (2002 and earlier) to be built by a couple of places IIRC, one of which being Mako.

Hi Tom - I have just bought a 600 ( not quite as beefed up as yours!) . Can I ask if you will have an auxiliary engine fitted and what your view is on that. I know there is a lot on other threads on this topic generally, but I'm specifically interested in it in relation to the 600. I have a 6hp tohatsu but wonder if it would be too big / heavy?

Hi Richard,

My view is the modern engine technology is very reliable, usually as a worst case if a modern four stroke has something going wrong with it, it's ECU will shut itself down into limp home mode before damage is done.

I have not planned to take an aux on my round Ireland trip as if something happened we would be in a flotilla of boats and not too far from a larger boat.

For normal use I rarely worry about it these days and often have done channel crossings etc on one engine.

If you are to take something I think a six may to big for the transome, try a removable bracket and see if it fits either side.
