Scorpion Wanted

Anything considered, preferably an inboard diesel around 8m.

I'm looking for this to be my next build so projects welcome.

Not too many Scorpions coming to market at the moment. (we are looking also)

There was one up in Scotland a while ago but not sure if that is still available?

Was also a superyacht tender that had a nice layout and Yanmar 315 but think that has gone also.

Talk to Stewart at Lymington Marine Sales (top bloke) as he will know most of them out there.

We looked at an 8.1 last year in Christchurch but wasnt for us. what i really want is my old 7.5 which i still see on occasion around the Solent...

I see Top Cat is for sale again, great boat with a nice refurb by a member on here.

There's two for sale in Largs one at euro yachts the other at DDZ both with 6lp's fitted

Found one of them, I'm looking to do a complete rebuild so may be best to lookout for a project rib.

There's no rush just need the rib to be at the right price...

Haven't ruled out an outboard, but would prefer ib diesel

Try Shaun 07779640922 he had one on ebay £20k dropped to less than £15k last time I saw it; if I wasn't in the middle of the ballistic id have bought it at that money - by far my ultimate RIB a diesel scorpion followed a close second by another osprey. Damn you're ahead of me on my own list aernt you Alex!!! One day.

which one did you find? i'll get you a number for the other if you want as ill be in the marina tomorrow

tbh they are both up & running boats & neither will be 'project' money

Ken, I've still got that bravo 2, dusted it off only today and concha to what I said months ago it IS a 2x diesel drive so PM me if still interested.

Alex - can I interest you in a transom assembly and bravo drive for the diesel rib you haven't found yet??

V.unusual boat is the 6.5 scorpion; this is only the 3rd I've come across. No1 belonged to rouge wave and unfortunately got pinched. No 2 I've never seen but belongs to searider and now this one. He wants £15,000 for it.

Been for sale for some time I think. Personally not a fan of the split console but did have a think about an offer last night.

Never been in a 6.5 scorpion but believe it's the 7.5 hull with the transom moved. I heard they were challenging to helm in a following sea?

Scorpion started to make them again a few years back but wanted big boat money for a small boat an not sure they moved many. I guess they are too busy with super yacht tenders and 8.1 m plus boats to sorry about small boats and small margins?

That's why I miss it so much because its a very exiting ride at speed you are always on the edge if you are trying to keep your speed up. Mine spat me out twice. I'm still limping from the last time cos my Knee snapped the throttle on Exit and I had a bit stuck in my knee. , Up until that point it was very enjoyable i

If you don't have to max it all the time its quite a comfortable and safe ride

The mad German goes tomorrow to sea trial the boat with a 19" REBEL last time before the RB

This prop will give me the remaining 200 rpm to hit the 5600rpm @ WOT
