sea-rider hull wanted

Does anyone have or know the whereabouts of a sea-rider hull or similar that needs some TLC??? Ideally a 4m but will consider bigger. Any information greatly appreciated.

Sea Rider Hull

Hi,

There's two 5.4m hulls showing on the Babcock Disposals web site, priced at a staggering £1200 and £1270 each plus Vodka And Tonic. At that money they must need the TLC you refer to.

Their web site is http://www.babcockdisposals.co.uk

Hope this helps. Let me know how you get on.

Good luck.

Thanks Paul, i've seen this site and wonder at who buys these or wether they ever get rid of them at that price, i've seen the state these ex m.o.d. ribs get in to living just down the road from the royal naval college in Dartmouth.

They'll have seen some work

Hi,

These things will have seen some work - no doubt! I don't know whether or not they're cheap - but they look like about £500 to me!

I'm in the market for a used 5.8-6.2m Dive RIB - and prices are variable to say the least . Condition is often pretty varaible too.

If you hear of anything perhaps you'd let me know. I'd like a Ribcraft 5.85 with a 100HP+ Four Stroke if possible. But I'm open to sensible suggestions.

Have fun.

Babcock Disposals

A friend of mine recently (last year) bought an Atlantic 21 from Babcocks.

Although in a sorry state through hard use more than abuse, it has cleaned up very well indeed (it looks better than mine!!!).

The service he got was, in his words; "Second to none". He found the staff very helpful and well informed about ribs and the like.

With a bit of hard work he now has a very smart commercial spec rib.

He says he would buy from them again without hesitation, but only if he breaks the current one. Will post some photos if I can get the digi camera thingy to work again.....

thanks bob, really i'm looking for the trace elements of a sea-rider, in other words needs new tubes and glass repairs which should mean a low price. The atlantics look like a good buy though and i'm not suprised they've come up nice.

I know of a Avon Searider 5.4 that comes with a 1998 ( i think) Mariner 50 2-stroke. It does 27 knots. Steering systems needs some TLC otherwise is fine, considering age. I blevieve trailer as well.

All for £1500,

it is situated here in Jersey C.I. tho

The 4m Searider is for sale at Sea Ventures, Hamble Point Marina - 01703 455 333, however when I went by yesterday some one was onboard and the for sale sign removed so it may have been sold. It has been there for some time and is in excellent condition on a trailer.

The avons at Babcocks are in a very tired state which i why they are still there. They are of the type the Police and Customs use for coming up alongside and boarding vessels. The tubes were completely flat when I looked at them but repairable and the steering would need replacement or alot of TLC. My advice on price was if you are interested they would take an offer to ger rid of.

The arctics were in really bad condition.

The 4m Searider has been up for sale at Seaventures, Hamble Point Maina.

The Avons at Babcocks are in a very tired ex Police/Customs service condition. Tubes completely flat, seized steering etc.

Have you tought of getting a really nice Flatacraft Force 5 - this is a much better boat than the Avon 4m, I used to have one, it is too short - the sea comes all over the front.

Great little hulls, although a little unsteady at speed
