Wanted 5m+ deep V hull rib either full boat or cheap project
I'm looking for a 5m+ rib with a deep v hull so it can cope with the solent chop and inshore use.
Very interested in a searider 5.4 or similar humber, tornado, ribtec, ribcraft, ribeye, etc etc
Budget is in the region of £3000 possibly more but would have to be complete boat for top end of budget with engine.
Anything considered but has to be deep v type
Projects willing to take on as well as I can design the boat how I want it then.

Right increasing my budget slightly to £4000 to £4500 but this would need to be a boat that was ready to go and in good condition with reasonably young engine.
My primary boat that I'm looking for is a Searider 5.4 as it has a very deep hull but if there are other boats out there that have as a deep hull I'm interested in them as well.
Or if anyone has a bare 5.4 searider hull I'm interested as well as I can always get the boat retubed.

Tell her the more expensive already refurbed one will work out cheaper in the long run (which is most probably true)

The problem is once you get into that type of price bracket it also brings in a lot of other boats that are close to the price but just slightly more and it keeps going.
So becomes a never ending hole of justifying more money.
So had to draw the line somewhere

Does it have to be 5m+ ? You would get a very nice mint condition Searider 4.0 well within your budget. My SR4 cost me less that £3000 to buy and it's fantastic fun. They come up for sale fairly regularly so you should not have to wait too long for a nice one to come up for sale on Ribnet. And they are very economical to run

I would buy a house and get a boat later, financially it makes more sense, But anyway once you have a house you won't have time for boating with all the DIY jobs she will get you doing. I speak from experience.

Once we buy the house we won't have the money to buy a boat more like
Really stuck on a 5.4 size as we looked at 4m and realised would be nice but would be looking for the next size up too quickly and 5.4 is probably the maximum size we would goto taking fuel consumption into consideration

It's a deep V, used to have a 535 it's quite narrow but a good sea boat for it's size. Now have a 585 it's no deeper IMO. That one seem to be local to you, sea trial?

585 upwards are different hulls than smaller boats but 455 and 535 are great boats. Ideal for playing about round Solent. I've driven one if these, a lot, with a 50 Honda on the back and it was good for 30kts. This should fly with a 75 on it. Great engines as well those Yam Pro's, bomb prof. I'd buy myself if I had the cash

Popped by and looked the 535 over and to be totally honest it was a lot worse than I expected but maybe I'm expecting too much.
The main thing was there was a split across the whole top of the transom exposing the internal plywood.
Also the engine looked like it had been run while down on gravel beach as the prop had gravel rash and also the leading edge had been battered and dinged.
And the boat had obviously been kept on a mooring with out antifoul so there was quite a bit of growth on the hull directly attached to the gelcoating.
So a NO from me disappointing as I started to get interested in the boat.
