Wanted 6.5m - 7.5m Scorpion

Wanted 6.5m Scorpion. Preferably with 150hp Optimax or HPDI. Alternatively with small 2 stroke if cheap enough to allow reasonable upgrade cost.
Would consider also a 7.5m Scorpion. Must have Optimax or HPDI.
I have a budget of about £17500 for a 7.5m but would rather spend up to £15000 on a 6.5m.
Any suggestions? Enough Budget? Alternatives?

Not in any hurry to buy the first thing that comes along but will wait for the right boat.

Anyone want a 5.4m Searider when I find a worthy replacement?

Duncan

ill have a look for you because there was a 6.5m on sale not too long ago.

Saying that though, you'll be lucky to find a 7.5m with a direct injection 2 stroke for less than 24k.

ah found it.

If you go to www.ribmagazine.com and then ribs for sale then there is a 6.5m and a 7.5m scorpion. The 7.5 has a ficht and they are askign 26k the 6.5 has an old tech Yammie and they asking £12500.

Thanks for that,

The 6.5 I tried to contact in November but had no joy - that boat would have been good if a deal could have been done.

The 7.5 is a bit out of my budget but I may move if the boat is right. This boat has been for sale for a while. Does anyone want to say anything about Ficht engines - was 2000 before or after Bombardier took over? I'm a bit wary of Evinrude!

The hunt continues

Regards

Hey Wave.

You're always going on about how much you loved your Searider. How about swapping your Scorp for his Avon?

I'd steer clear of 2000 Ficht - pre Bombardier IIRC. 7.5m Scorp is the boat to go for. Clearly given the price expectations above and scarcity of them around I sold mine way too cheap to Richard and Louise!!

Aah! But you know she's gone to a good home. And you get to come out on her anytime you like.

Think of it as having all the fun of owning Blue Ice without the headaches & bills of berthing & maintaining her.

Louise,

I have already suggested this to him - but no joy!
