I spent ages trying to work out where to mount the helm, gauges etc on my Searider before drilling any holes, been ok so far

Thanks I'm sure the position will be fine and is certainly better than in my previous boat (to embarrassed to mention it on this forum):-) but at least it would appear I have the option to change!

It's ALL about rigging Your Boat to suit You..and your boating needs.
Helm position is Very important,for ease,comfort,and ultimately safety!..Either way it's a pretty easy fix.Try her (in all Sea States)and see how you get on

Yes my previous boat's helm was in a dreadful position, great when flat calm and I could sit comfortably, but when sea conditions were poor a completely different story with a bad back to prove it ! I'm sure the Osprey will be fine but until it as highlighted on the forum I hadn't thought about moving it - something to consider when I have a few hours under my belt!! Wouldn't know what to do with the hole it would leave- maybe a new compass
