Wanted Searider 5.4m
Hi all,
I'm a bit of a fan of the sr 5.4 so looking for one that needs a bit of attention. One with no big structural problems if at all possible!
I'm trying to get an idea of what's out there and what and for how much.
Donal in Wexford Ireland.

Welcome to the forum.
It shouldn't be hard to find a Searider that needs some work. Depends what your idea of "a bit of attention" is?

Wanted searider 5.4m
Hi
Yeah that is true. I'll try and define what kind of condition i'm thinking of!
Tubes must be good enough to use the odd patch here and there will not put me off.
Hull should be sound, and again good enough to use. Some glassing work is not beyond me.
With or without engine, price would need to reflect this!
Generally a sr with that needs a good clean, a few repairs, and painting.
A Rough diamond!
Maybe I should have started this in the ribs and ribbing section?

Few here, good condition. At least gives you ball-park figure. Trailer and engine extra, etc.

Right I think the disposal one is right up my street! This way I can put together a package over time that I will be happy with! Have you any experience buying from these guys? What kind of condition are these boats in generally?
Thanks for you help, it's great to be able to get advice from people who know what their talking about!
Donal

Hi there, I did try to get a SR 5.4 from RAMCO for many months. Kept on badgering them to call me when they had one in etc, but they never got back to me and it seems they dont get that many. I eventually found one on ebay after about a 6 month search. You have to keep looking constantly and only advice from me is that try to get one that is original i.e not tampered with. Even an old one that needs work to clean up is ideal when it is in original form and not modified in anyway.
Hope this helps.
Regards and good luck.

They obviously don't update their site. I've sent you a PM with another one I've just found. Not a project though, decent 4-stroke engine, etc.

If that's 10 years old I'm a yoghurt pot. It's closer to 20 looking at it.
Provide the hull ID number (should be at the front inside of tubes, near no3 compartment valve) and it can be dated properly.

Are these "rare" ones more sought after than the 5.4 ? I'm thinking I may have one too

Well I guess that proves it.
Would I be right in thinking this is a 1990 SR5

That serial plate is on the inside centre of the transom on mine (centre of the engine mounting bolts) and the serial number is on the rear starboard side of the outer transom. There's also a number on the starboard side top of the transom
Last two digits usually denote its age
