Thanks Stevo. Unfortunately the design of this requires the side supports are put on first and the overlap is right at the front. Still, it does help to know that it's a pig to do. I have repaired the originals for now since there don't seem to be any patterns/drawings available anymore. I'll be trying assembly once it warms up in a couple of months...
