Next step was to cover them after a lot looking what to use I decided on carpet as there is a carpet warehouse in my town and I felt the boat would slide more easily on it.
When putting it on I used No Nonsense contact adhesive and 2 cm cloud nails to firmly secure the carpet as shown.
The 2 photos show both sides and how I turned the ends over to secure them to the bottom.
