hi
How are you getting on with the zapcat and prop issues mentioned in the threads?
I have a z10 zapcat with a 1985 mriner 40hp 2 stroke twin (yamaha engine really) and found the same problem with the cavitation if giving it quick acceleration from standstill.
I had to feed in the power to stop it cavitating. In rough water such as coming intowards a beach and overtaking the waves it would spin up all the time. I was using the stock 13pitch prop.
I am looking at semi cleaver props or ones off yamaha motors as they have a flat trailing edge blade on those props.
i used hydro foil fins on my cav plate which helped with planing and less cavitation but found the best angle for the engine to be in the lowest trimmed hole, the first one nearest the transom, any higher and the cavitation would be more noticable.
let me know how you have got on??
regards
nathan
