searider 5.4
Hi everyone,
I have just bought a fully rebuilt ex military searider and have purchased a mariner 90 optimax used. The question is it too heavy at 170kg? |
NO the max weight specified by AVON is 175kg so your OK
Great RIB enjoy!! |
Thats an awfully heavy engine- I didn't realise the 90 optis were so weighty. It's actually heavier than the Honda 90 4 stroke!
|
That's almost 60 Kg heavier than the Yam. Watch out for water coming over your transom at rest.

Just to put the record straight,i was quoted the engine to be an optimax but when i got there it was a standard mariner 90 2 stroke. I still made the purchace,it has a barras meter 123 hours, you can't go wrong for £1600 can you. Cheers Adrian. |

Not at all-I wish I'd seen it at that price!!! |
170kgs for a 90:eek:
The Tohatsu 90 TLDI is 143Kgs which still seams a lot considering my Suzuki DT200EFI only comes in at 211kgs. Nasher. |
