Replies: 27 Mercury mariner 200 Views: 3,635 Posted By roofer The oil pump drive is the weak link it's prone to... The oil pump drive is the weak link it's prone to failure . The oil pump shaft is metal and the drive is composite/ plastic and wears out and fails causing major engine damage .
